THE TOPOGRAPHY OF THE BODY X ZEROTH GENDER (2019)
Małgorzata Żurada’s Linear chains of the body-mind is an installation exploring the geometry of the body and its potential to tune-in with seemingly unrelated elements. It is based on the results of a group research investigating the ideas of a neurologist Giuseppe Calligaris.
I re-interpret Zurada’s text “The Topography of the Body” in a performance where the poetics of Olurummaré, the formless, zeroth gender Yoruba deity that materializes as a generative force in the universe, becomes present in the space exploring ethereal energy and vibrational evocation. The organic auto-tuning of nature within the body and other elements such as water and geometry merge as one, and the impulses crystalize within evocations through poetry and movement.
